What was the point of signaling, right at this crucial moment, that he’s willing to give away the public plan? Let alone doing it at the very moment that he was making such a good case for it?Maybe because Obama's corporate masters don't want him to enact a public plan, nor do they even want him to use the idea as leverage. I'm just saying.

I did have such hopes for your country, I really did :-(.
Yeah, so did I... thirty years ago.
When I think about the fact that the Democrats are poised to squander the opportunity to seriously reform health care in the USA, it's taking enormous willpower to get through any half-hour period without erupting in shouted obscenities.
Even typing this comment without obscenities is all I can handle right now.
We have been utterly had.
The "leaders" of this party don't want sensible health care any more than the knuckle-draggers leading the other party.
