We raised two girls in the commune, and I raised two mostly by myself, and I just don't know what I might have done right and might have done wrong. The two I raised myself turned out... not no successful; AFAIK, the two raised in the commune had more social success.Larry Hamelinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08788697573946266404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28755195.post-16710035485308096832017-11-26T16:25:36.144-07:002017-11-26T16:25:36.144-07:00Larry, I know this is kind of off topic, but I'...Larry, I know this is kind of off topic, but I'm wondering about the children during your time in your cult, were the children born in your cult raised communally / in a creche? If so, what was the experience?

One of the things that concerns me most greatly in our current society is child abuse. I don't feel that we've truly made a dent against the problem.

One proposal that some radical socialists have put forward is the communal raising / raising in a creche of children. One huge reason why abused children often do not report their abuse is because they feel they'd be put into the foster system where supposedly there is even a higher percentage of abusers. (Maybe that's not true, maybe that's what some parents tell their children so that they won't report abuse in a home of birth, but that's what I keep hearing.)

I'm going to jump to the point now, given that abuse thrives behind closed doors that are impossible to leave from, I think the solution is that children should have a choice: By a certain age, at least age 10 if not younger, children should have a choice to leave their birth home and to be raised in a communal creche like environment. I don't think it should be forced on any child, but there should be a choice.

What do you think?Dustin Vinland Jarlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06321791031988119649noreply@blogger.com
