Why punish anyone for murder? You can't bring the victim back to life.

The past is the foundation of the future: If crimes of the past are not corrected, then our future is compromised. What kind of future can we have if we let criminals get off scot-free?

We have forsworn preemptive justice for reactive justice. There are pros and cons to this strategy, but we abandon 10,000 years of legal and political evolution if we forswear reactive justice with nothing to replace it.

Trailing Bush would a tricky business and the justice system is not up to the task.

Then we are well and truly fucked. It may be true that the justice system is not up to the task, but that truth would be a cause for worry, even panic, not Techskeptic's ridiculous complacency.Larry Hamelinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08788697573946266404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28755195.post-21363427600322979562009-01-19T00:33:00.000-07:002009-01-19T00:33:00.000-07:00Your "egregious stupidity" summarization is not re...Your "egregious stupidity" summarization is not really accurate. It should be: "Justice is difficult and imperfect, so let's just not worry about the past and work on the future".
Trailing Bush would a tricky business and the justice system is not up to the task. The leaders (in the justice system) will not trial the leaders (of administration). 10 years in jail for what Bush have done would be a punishement if Bush would be raped at least once a week. But that is not going to happen. Only the people can trial Bush. A parent who lost a kid in the war, a family that lost it's money in the financial crisis are the only judges that can trial Bush. But these people have lives that will end as soon as they go doing their on justice, they will definetely go to jail. Since christianity got a grip on the human morality we handed the justice-making to the invisible sky-daddy. 2000 years of brainwashing are not easy to undo.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28755195.post-56540886663571305612009-01-18T08:09:00.000-07:002009-01-18T08:09:00.000-07:00but, but...political apathy never hurt anyone righ...but, but...political apathy never hurt anyone right?

durThe Villainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09982651571978108960noreply@blogger.com
