Anarchism in action

This is what I'm talking about when I mention unreasoning hostility and intellectual dishonesty. He's frothing worse than Ken Ham looking at a fossil.

One swallow does not a summer make, but I don't think db0 is making anarchism look all that attractive.

He's sending a lot of readers to my blog, though, so it's not all bad.

  1. Hey Larry

Long-time lurker - at both yours and db0's house.

I'm a little bit over this private "who gets anarchy and who doesn't" dick-fight turning up on the Planet Atheism feed with such semi-regularity. It's petty, spiteful & getting painfully dull. I wouldn't be surprised if it drives away as much traffic it attracts. On a personal note I couldn't give a crap which unworkable political system either of you favour; it's not why I started visiting either of your blogs.

I won't sling blame as I'm not remotely interested in who cast the first stone, but it takes two to tango and the pair of you are Fred and Gingering my head in.

    Regards
    H

  2. I've long since stopped trying to please everyone.

But essentially, I'm just saying that anarchism is bullshit, and I see part of the larger charge of atheism to call out bullshit. This seems to infuriate db0, just as calling out religious bullshit seems to infuriate the religious.

Keep in mind that when db0 says that I "insult" everyone who disagrees with me, he's referring to my practice of calling bullshit on poorly-reasoned and evidence-free "arguments".

Apparently being called on their bullshit is too much for these delicate snowflakes.

  3. Also, Hank, if you have something substantive to contribute, some understanding about anarchism that eludes my understanding, you are welcome to present it. (Contrary to db0's assertions, I ban people only because they are jerks, not because they disagree with me.) I will, of course, subject your explanation to critical scrutiny, and if I think it's full of shit, I will say so.

Please pick a handle or moniker for your comment. It's much easier to address someone by a name or pseudonym than simply "hey you". I have the option of requiring a "hard" identity, but I don't want to turn that on... yet.

With few exceptions, I will not respond or reply to anonymous comments, and I may delete them. I keep a copy of all comments; if you want the text of your comment to repost with something vaguely resembling an identity, email me.

No spam, pr0n, commercial advertising, insanity, lies, repetition or off-topic comments. Creationists, Global Warming deniers, anti-vaxers, Randians, and Libertarians are automatically presumed to be idiots; Christians and Muslims might get the benefit of the doubt, if I'm in a good mood.

See the Debate Flowchart for some basic rules.

Sourced factual corrections are always published and acknowledged.

I will respond or not respond to comments as the mood takes me. See my latest comment policy for details. I am not a pseudonomous-American: my real name is Larry.

Comments may be moderated from time to time. When I do moderate comments, anonymous comments are far more likely to be rejected.

I've already answered some typical comments.

I have jqMath enabled for the blog. If you have a dollar sign (\$) in your comment, put a \\ in front of it: \\\$, unless you want to include a formula in your comment.
