Whining fucktard

I guess it's mutual: I can't stand Charlotte Allen because she's a whining fucktard.
I can't stand atheists -- but it's not because they don't believe in God. It's because they're crashing bores. ...

My problem with atheists is their tiresome -- and way old -- insistence that they are being oppressed and their fixation with the fine points of Christianity. What -- did their Sunday school teachers flog their behinds with a Bible when they were kids?
Well, yes, fucktard; precisely this sort of thing actually happens, not to mention all the other retarded things that religious people do, and justify according to their ridiculous infantile superstitions.

  1. fixation with the fine points of Christianity

I'm an atheist and I have about as much interest in the "fine points of christianity" as I do in what the crazy dude on my block is muttering to himself every afternoon when I walk by him and he shouts at me.

  2. Again, we can't win for losing. Either we lack an appreciation for the depth and subtlety of theology, or we're fixated on the fine points of Christianity.

  3. Yeah, "whining fucktard" describes her quite nicely. I also noticed the dilemma on which she tried to skewer us: we're “whining” when we point out their moves toward theocracy, and she accuses us of a “frenzied fascination with Christianity and the Bible” if we rebut them with their own texts. I guess what she really wants is for all of us to withdraw silently into a stained-glass closet.

Well, guess what? That’s not going to happen. We’re not going back, we’re not shutting up, and if she doesn’t like it, she can move to a Christian nation—like Vatican City. (Maybe that would allow the LA Times to hire a competent writer...)

Please pick a handle or moniker for your comment. It's much easier to address someone by a name or pseudonym than simply "hey you". I have the option of requiring a "hard" identity, but I don't want to turn that on... yet.

With few exceptions, I will not respond or reply to anonymous comments, and I may delete them. I keep a copy of all comments; if you want the text of your comment to repost with something vaguely resembling an identity, email me.

No spam, pr0n, commercial advertising, insanity, lies, repetition or off-topic comments. Creationists, Global Warming deniers, anti-vaxers, Randians, and Libertarians are automatically presumed to be idiots; Christians and Muslims might get the benefit of the doubt, if I'm in a good mood.

I will respond or not respond to comments as the mood takes me. See my latest comment policy for details. I am not a pseudonomous-American: my real name is Larry.

I've already answered some typical comments.
